Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat joint conditions. This technique involves inserting a small camera, called an arthroscope, through tiny incisions in the skin, allowing surgeons to visualize the inside of the joint in real-time. Commonly performed on the knee, shoulder, ankle, and wrist, arthroscopy offers a clearer view than traditional open surgery.
During the procedure, the surgeon can also remove damaged tissue, repair tears, or address other issues without the need for large incisions. Benefits of arthroscopy include reduced pain, shorter recovery times, and minimal scarring. Patients often experience less postoperative discomfort compared to open surgery.
